Lesson 16: German Nouns (Nomen)

Nouns (Nomen) – A1 Grammar

A noun (Nomen) is a word that names a person, thing, place, or concept. In German, every noun is capitalized, even in the middle of a sentence.

Examples:

  • Ich bin Studentin. — I am a student. (Here Studentin is a noun.)
  • Ali lernt Englisch. — Ali is learning English. (Here Ali and Englisch are nouns.)

Remember: In German, all nouns begin with a capital letter, regardless of where they appear in the sentence.
